Final Farmers
Market Sept. 21
The final Sitka Farmers Market of the season will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the ANB Founders Hall.
Farmers markets are sponsored by the Sitka Local Foods Network.
The Sitka Kaagwaantaan Dancers will hold a clam chowder and fry bread fundraiser in the ANS kitchen.
All Alaska Grown Products and Theobroma Chocolates with the Sitka Farmers Market label will be 50% off. Many flavors of the Chugach chocolates will be on sale.

Cancer Society
Raffle on Tap
Sitka Cancer Survivors Society is holding its annual raffle, with three winning tickets being drawn on Oct. 27.
Tickets will be on sale at the final Sitka Farmers Market of the season, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at ANB Founders Hall.
Prizes include ‘‘Sue’s Diamonds’’ queen-size quilt made by Ocean Wave Quilters; $250 cash donated by Stereo North; and a two-night stay at any Aspen Hotel in Alaska. Winners will choose their prizes.
The drawing will be held at the Sitka Elks Lodge, permitted by the Sitka Emblem Club.
Those wanting to purchase a ticket for $10 each can go to the Farmers Market, or call Bonnie Richards at 907 738-0692.
Early Voting Set
For City Election
Early voting for the Oct. 1 municipal election is available 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays, Sept. 16-30, at Harrigan Centennial Hall, in meeting rooms 2 and 3.
A wheelchair accessible booth and an ADA-compliant voting apparatus are available during early voting and at each precinct on Election Day, the city said.

Summer Troll
Fishery Extended
The Southeast/Yakutat commercial troll fishery is extended through 11:59 p.m. Sept. 30 for all salmon species, except Chinook.
Restrictions are in place and can be found on the Alaska Department of Fish and Game website at http://www.adfg.alaska.gov or by calling the troll hotline at 907 747-8765.
A season extension is being implemented as the department has projected regional coho salmon escapement goals will be met and fish in excess of escapement needs are available for harvest.
The winter troll fishery will open according to regulation at 12:01 a.m. Oct. 11.
Stand-Up Comic
To Perform Thurs.
Michael Palascak, a runner-up in the show “Last Comic Standing,” will perform a show 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Harrigan Centennial Hall. Tickets $40 at the door, and on Eventbrite, under the comic’s name. Proceeds will go to the relief effort for victims of the Ketchikan landlide.
