Sitka Tells Tales Hosts Animal-Theme Storytelling, Part 2

By Sentinel Staff
Seven Sitkans will share tales about animals at a live storytelling event Sitka Tells Tales 7 p.m. at Harbor mountain Brewery.
Organizer Ellen Frankenstein said the theme is “Tales of Tails: Stories of Cuteness, Chaos & Connection II,” with general topics of “beetles, bears and dogs.”
Storytellers are Mel Beadle, Charlie Jordan, Jay Stillwell, Bri Gabel, Jess Coltharp, and Arleigh Reynolds. The evening will end with a special appearance from the “one and only Burgess Bauder,” a longtime local veterinarian.
It’s the second time artchange has collaborated with the Friends nonprofit organization to host a storytelling event.
“Our connection to both wild and tame creatures is essential to who we are and there’s many tales to be shared,” Frankenstein said.
Co-hosts are artchange, Friends of the Sitka Animal Shelter and KCAW-FM, which will broadcast the event live. Proceeds from the suggested donation of $15 will be donated to the Friends of the Sitka Animal Shelter.
