Man Injured At Launch Dock

Sitka Police and Fire departments were dispatched to the Starrigavan boat launch dock Sunday evening after a man went overboard and was injured by a boat propeller.
The man was taken by ambulance to the hospital, with an unknown extent of injuries.
The accident occurred at the dock, and witnesses called for help at 5:14 p.m., the fire hall said.
The Fire Department sent a fire truck and an ambulance to the dock, and the fire hall put out a call to responders. A team of 14 fire department personnel, including EMTs, firefighters and divers, responded and were on the scene in 12 minutes, the fire hall said.
The fire truck was not needed, and the ambulance took the patient to SEARHC Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center.
