A third person has been charged in a drug case that led to the arrest last week of two other Sitkans, Adam J. Fondell, 37, and April R. McLaughlin, 38, police said today.
Casey M. Douglas, 47, was arraigned Saturday on a felony count of vehicle theft in the first degree for taking a vehicle from Sitka High on Jan. 16 to escape police. Bail was set at $1,500.

On Sunday, he was arraigned on one count of a petition to revoke probation. He was on felony probation from 2015 charges of vehicle theft in the first degree, theft of a firearm in the second degree, failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer-vehicle theft, and petition to revoke probation.
On Monday, Douglas was arraigned on two felony charges of assault in the third degree, one felony charge of failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer, and one felony count of criminal mischief in the third degree. Bail was set at $50,000 with third party custodian.
Douglas’s arrest followed those of Fondell and McLaughlin on Thursday evening, in a drug interdiction operation by Sitka police and the Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs regional task force. When they tried to arrest Fondell at his home on Etolin Way he fled in a Dodge Ram, striking one officer and a marked patrol vehicle, police said. He was pursued to Sitka High School, where he abandoned his truck and was arrested as he tried to escape on foot.
Fondell was arraigned Friday on three felony counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the third degree, and bail was set at $200,000. McLaughlin was charged with one count of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the third degree with bail set at $60,000.
SEACAD interdicted about 229 grams of methamphetamine during the operation, police said.
Fondell, McLaughlin and Douglas are being held in the Sitka jail.
