As Alaskans again seek the Nenana Ice Classic’s iconic red ticket cans, the Alaska Department of Revenue is beginning a project that could allow residents to buy raffle tickets online.
Three years ago, the Alaska Legislature and Gov. Mike Dunleavy enacted a law allowing online ticket sales, and the Department of Revenue is now preparing to craft regulations to implement that law.
In a public notice published Tuesday on the state’s online notice system, the department said it is taking comments from members of the public who have ideas about how online ticket sales should be regulated and monitored.
No specific rules have yet been proposed; the department is requesting comment on what those rules might look like.
Public comments are being accepted through 4 p.m. Monday via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
