Police have released the name of a fisherman found dead March 27 on a Japonski Island beach at the end of Seward Avenue.
He was identified as Aaron M. Johnson, 62, who lived aboard his 48 ft. sailing boat, The Spirit, at Eliason Harbor. Harbor Department staff said he had been fishing out of Sitka for several years.
No foul play is suspected, police said.
Next of kin, who don't live in Sitka, have been notified, police said.
