Messy Church
    Slated Oct. 29
    Sitka Lutheran Church parishioners are reminded that the next Messy Church event will be Oct. 29 – not tonight as was previously announced.
    More information about the Oct. 29 event will be announced.

    White E Sale in
    Children’s Store
    The Sitka White Elephant Shop Children’s Store will have a $5-a-bag sale 6-8 p.m. tonight. Bags will be provided.


    Pioneers Meet
    The Pioneers of Alaska regular potluck and get-together will be held Thursday, Oct. 2, at Sitka Methodist Church on Kimsham Street.
    Social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a brief program.

     Sullivan in Sitka;
    Reception Planned
    Dan Sullivan, Anchorage mayor and candidate for lieutenant governor, will host a meet-and-greet 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Westmark Sitka Queen Room.
    Refreshments will be provided, and donations are being accepted. The public is invited to meet Sullivan and hear about the Parnell/Sullivan team.

Thanks to the generosity and expertise of the the Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska broadband department, Tidal Network ; Christopher Cropley, director of Tidal Network; and Luke Johnson, Tidal Network technician, SitkaSentinel.com is again being updated. Tidal Network has been working tirelessly to install Starlink satellite equipment for city and other critical institutions, including the Sentinel, following the sudden breakage of GCI's fiberoptic cable on August 29, which left most of Sitka without internet or phone connections. CCTHITA's public-spirited response to the emergency is inspiring.
