Annual Giving Tree

Ornaments Ready

The Giving Tree will be set up at the Wells Fargo Bank lobby from Nov. 24 to Dec. 22.

‘‘Please give to those in Sitka who are in need,’’ Sitka Methodist Church, organizers of the event, said. ‘‘The Giving Tree is an opportunity to provide Christmas gifts to those who may not receive this year.’’

The ornaments on the tree are tags with information about the age and gender of a child or adult. Everyone is asked to take a tag, or more than one, purchase a gift for that person, and return the unwrapped gift to the decorated box in the Wells Fargo main lobby.

Gifts will be given to elders in the Sitka Pioneers Home, Sitka Community Hospital Long-Term Care Unit, and women and children at SAFV and Youth Advocates of Sitka.

Donations of Christmas wrap and tape are appreciated, organizers said. Call Julia Smith, 738-6336, or Lauren Allen, 747-6432, with questions.
