Wearable Arts
Dates Given
The seventh annual Sitka Wearable Art Show and Runway Extravaganza, sponsored by the Greater Sitka Arts Council, will be March 7.
Artists are reminded that the dress rehearsal will be on March 6. Both a matinee and evening show are planned March 7.

SSSC Closure
The Sitka Sound Science Center will be closed Dec. 22-27 and Jan. 1. Regular visiting hours will resume Saturday, Jan. 3.
Tribal Council
Elects Officers
At its December meeting, the Sitka Tribe of Alaska Tribal Council elected new officers for 2015.
Chairman is Michael Baines, who was elected by Tribal citizens in the November election. Other officers elected are: vice-dhairman Rachel Moreno; secretary Wilbur Brown; and treasurer Ben Miyasato.
Tribal Council meetings are held two Wednesdays a month in the Sheet’ka Kwáan Naa Kahídi. The first Wednesday is an action item-only meeting, held at noon; the regular business meeting is 6:30 p.m. the third Wednesday. The meetings are open to the public.
Crescent Harbor
Parking Discussed
A public meeting to discuss parking at Crescent Harbor and Harrigan Centennial Hall will be noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, in the Centennial Hall Exhibit Room.
The purpose of the meeting will be to gain input into a management plan that is currently being developed for the remodel phase of Centennial Hall.

Christmas Dinner
Planning Tonight
The final meeting before the annual community Christmas dinner will be tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the ANB Founders Hall.
The group will be fine-tuning plans and volunteers are still needed.
A work party was held today; however, more work is to be done. Those who can cook a turkey are asked to pick it up tonight at 6:30 p.m. Twenty-four turkeys will need to be baked. All need to be returned to the ANB Founders Hall by noon on Christmas Day.
A breakfast will be cooked for the volunteers at 10 a.m. Christmas Day by Chef John Gallagher. Volunteer work begins at 10:30 a.m.
The public is invited to Christmas Dinner, which will be served by volunteers. For more information, call Debe Brincefield at 738-4323
‘I Spy Christmas’
Activity Dec. 21-23
Children of all ages are invited to participate in an I Spy Christmas activity at Kettleson Memorial Library for a chance to win a prize.
The program will run Dec. 12-23. A winner will be announced Dec. 23. Picture sheets to participate in the contest can be found at Kettleson Memorial Library circulation desk.

Caroling at Library
Kettleson Memorial Library invites children to a Caroling in the Library Jammies program 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23.
All are invited to sing. Picture book versions of holiday carols will be on hand, as well as milk and cookies.

Christmas Eve
Service Planned
St. Peter’s by-the-Sea will have its Christmas Eve service with a pageant at 6:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
All our welcome to attend. A musical prelude and celebration of Holy Communion will be included.
