BMS PAC Meet

Set for April 14

Blatchley Middle School will hold a PAC meeting 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, in the school library.

The public, including Title I parents, are invited.

 

‘Citizenfour’ Film

To be Presented

The Sitka Film Society will present the Academy Award-winning documentary “Citizenfour” 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 24, at the Downtown Coliseum Theater.

The film follows the story of Edward Snowden and the largest leak of government documents in U.S. history.

The documentary is rated R for language. Tickets are $8 at Old Harbor Books and the Coliseum Theater.

 

 

Big Rig Rally

Set for April 25

The second annual Big Rig Rally is set 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Mt. Edgecumbe High School parking lot.

  The 3-5 Preschool fundraiser will include a variety of rigs. Demonstration, tough- and climb-on, no-touch, and kiddie areas are planned. The cost is $5 for children, $10 for adult or $20 for a family.

The event will include construction helmets, baked goods, hotdogs and pancit for sale. 

 

SHS Seniors

Set Bake Sale

Sitka High School seniors will hold a bake sale 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Wells Fargo lobby.

Whale expert Jan Straley and biologists from Sitka Tribe of Alaska and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game will be featured on a cruise sponsored by Sitka Whalefest this weekend.

March 1975

Police Blotter: Preston Williams reported $6 worth of gas was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at the Kiksadi. Paul Garwood said two tires on the KSA-TV van were slashed while the truck was parked at the Hobby House. George Reid, Arrowhead Trailer Court said guns, steamer trunks and decanters valued at $1,500 were stolen by burglars. A telephone was reported detached from the booth next to the post office.
