July 4th Activities at Sitka National Historical Park

4th Activities

Sitka National Historical Park has scheduled activities for families on July 4.

The schedule of events is:

9 a.m.-noon and after the parade until 5 p.m. Russian Bishop’s House will be open free of charge.

10 a.m.-noon:children’s games from long ago on the lawn in front of the Russian Bishop’s House.

10 a.m.-noon: complimentary Russian tea service and Russian-era costume interpretation 

3:30-4:30 p.m.: ice cream social at the Visitor Center.

Local Grants

Holland America Line Community Advisory Board is taking applications for grants from local service and non-profit groups in Sitka.

The CAB consists of Sitka civic and business leaders who advise Holland America Line on local corporate contributions and community involvement projects.

The board prefers to provide support for projects that will benefit the community as a whole.

RockFit at Hames

Bridger Williams, CrossFit Level One Trainer, CPT, of the Hames Center is offering a cross-training program called RockFit.

The program will include five workouts a week for one month and is open to all ages and levels.

RockFit involves gymnastics, weightlifting, metabolic conditioning and functional movements executed at high intensity.

Deadline for registration is July 3.

Ralph is here from the Southwest Indian Polytechnic Institute, along with his fiancee Grace Gillian; Louise is here from the University of New Mexico, and Jennifer, who’s working with IEA in Anchorage is home with her fiance Lance Ware.
