BHV Annual

Meeting on Tap

Brave Heart Volunteers will hold its annual business meeting 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Pioneers Home Managers House.

The community is invited to attend.  For more information contact Brave Heart at 747-4600.

 

Pie-Baking Class

Listed for Dec. 23

SAIL will offer a pie-baking class 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Sitka Kitch for those over age 60.

The class will make sweet and savory galettes, a lattice pie and a cream pie. Pastry chef and instructor Betsy Sanchez will teach the class.

Methodists Plan

Service Dec. 24

Sitka United Methodist Church will have two Christmas Eve services on Dec. 24.

Worship times are 5:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Services are open to the community and all are invited to attend. The service will include candle-lighting, special music and open Communion. 

 

Open House Set

Tonight on Maple

The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Maple invites Sitkans to its second annual Holiday Open House aboard the cutter 6-8 p.m. tonight, Dec. 21.

The event is family-friendly.

 

ANS to Meet

Alaska Native Sisterhood Camp 4 will meet 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at the ANB Founders Hall.

An update will be heard on the Christmas community dinner and other ANS business.

Letters to Santa

Letters posted here will be forwarded to Santa Claus at the North Pole. Letters may be dropped off at the Sentinel office or at Sitka True Value to be printed in the newspaper and placed here.

 

Dear Santa: This year may I please have a baby tedy, a big stuffed horse, a army man, and please please have that lego boat set, please? I have been very good to my sister, and have been doing lots of chores, in fact I did a load of dishes today! How are you doing this year? How are the rein deer? How are the elves? hope you have a good night of flying! Merry Chrismas! P.S. What would you like to eat when you come to my house? Love Dane Evans

Ralph is here from the Southwest Indian Polytechnic Institute, along with his fiancee Grace Gillian; Louise is here from the University of New Mexico, and Jennifer, who’s working with IEA in Anchorage is home with her fiance Lance Ware.
