Brandon C. Ihde
Lifelong Alaskan Brandon C. Ihde, 40, died December 21, 2022, in a traffic accident near Clam Gulch.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Peninsula Memorial Chapel, 5839 Kenai Spur Hwy., Kenai. Chaplain Frank Alioto will officiate.
Brandon was born May 15, 1982, in Sitka. He attended Juneau-Douglas High School, Pacific High School in Sitka, and Bellingham Technical School, in Washington. He lived in various places around Alaska including, Sitka, Sand Point, and Anchor Point, and in Bellingham.
He was a commercial fisherman and fished on several boats, including the Nani Kai, Legacy, Aghileen, Majesty, Alaska Dawn, Namorada and Bristol Knight. He was the owner of Falcon Fisheries and had skippered on the Star Shadow, Barwell and Falcon as well.
Brandon loved fishing, hunting, snowmachining, riding 3-wheelers, cutting firewood, wrenching on trucks and camping.
His family wrote, “He had a heart of gold and was willing to help anybody who needed it. He fathered nine children and was always the life of the party. Brandon was a talented skipper and fisherman who loved the ocean and found peace on the high seas. He loved his family and friends. He also loved to go fast and test the mechanical limits of everything he operated.
“Brandon gave everything to all and he liked to give things to others. The love of others and his family was most important to him. He touched the lives of everyone whom he met. No matter what Brandon may have done or said, his love could never be denied.”
Brandon is survived by his father, Roger Ihde Sr. of Kenai; his mother, Kathy McNamee of Pearcy, Arkansas; brothers, John Ihde of Sitka and Roger Ihde Jr. of Kenai; son, Riley Ihde of Blaine, Washington; daughter, Jayley Thomason of Bellingham; his fiancée, Randi Madsen of Anchor Point; and his kids whom he fathered, Tavis, Colton, Spencer, Miles, Avery, Quinn and Wyatt.

Colliver donated the money after her business, Colliver Shoes, borrowed the truck to use during Moonlight Madness. The truck is in need of an estimated $20,000 worth of restoration work, Swearingen said.

Sitka Community Hospital Administrator Martin Tirador and hospital board chairman Lawrence Porter told the Assembly Tuesday about the need for a new hospital to replace the existing 18-year-old one. The cost would be about $6.89 million with $2.2 million of that required locally.
