Bryan McDonald
Dies in Sitka at 52
Bryan Jonathan McDonald died of natural causes in Sitka, on September 5, 2015, at age 52.
Bryan was born July 15, 1963, in Seattle, Wash., and was raised in Darrington, Wash., where much of his natal family still resides. He had lived in Sitka since 1988.
Bryan was a gentle soul. In Sitka, he found a home, and in the Alaska Native Brotherhood he found a family. Among his interests was wood carving.
He is survived by his daughter; his sisters, Dianne Green and Valerie Barker, of Darrington, and Elizabeth Clark, of Mountlake Terrace, Wash.; by his brothers Kim McDonald, of Darrington, and Barry McDonald, of Bridgeport, Calif.; by his loving mother, Mary Louise Bryson, of Darrington; and by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Thanks to the generosity and expertise of the Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska broadband department, Tidal Network; Christopher Cropley, director of Tidal Network; and Luke Johnson, Tidal Network technician, SitkaSentinel.com is again being updated. Tidal Network has been working tirelessly to install Starlink satellite equipment for critical institutions, including the Sentinel, following the scheduled maintenance of GCI’s fiberoptic cable starting March, 13th. CCTHITA’s public-spirited response to the outage is inspiring.
