Dorothy Perrine, at the age of 102, passed on peacefully on Nov. 18, 2015, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Carl Henning, where she had lived for the past five and a half years.
At her request, no funeral services will be held.
Dorothy was born May 21, l913, to William F. and Margaret Tierney Berger at Cascade, Mont. She graduated from Cascade High School and worked at banks in Cascade, and St. Paul, Minn., before her marriage to Arnold (Dell) Perrine in l931. They observed more than 64 years of marriage before his death in l996.
The Perrines moved to Hillsboro, Ore., from Great Falls, Mont., in l942. Dell first worked there on building Bonneville Dam and in shipyards, and was a lifelong home builder.
Dorothy worked for certified public accountants in the Hillsboro, Beaverton, and Portland, Ore., areas for 33 years.
They moved to Laguna Niguel, Calif., in l994 to be close to their son, Bob, and his wife, Evelyn, and their family. A few years after Dell’s passing in l996, Dorothy moved to Palm Desert, Calif., to live with Bob and Evelyn until she moved to Sitka in 2010.
Siblings who preceded her in death were Frederick Berger, Robert Berger, Dick Berger and Peggy Wuerl Mills.
Sister-in-law Jackie Berger is in Helena, Montana.
In addition to her two children, Bob Perrine and Betty Henning and their spouses, she is survived by five grandchildren: Barbara Bodenhoefer of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Rob Perrine of Seal Beach, Calif., Ron Perrine and wife Shelley of Twentynine Palms, Calif., Gretchen Parrish and husband Wade, Sitka, and Gar Henning and wife Catherine of Eagle River.
She has 11 great-grandchildren: Jason and Eric Bodenhoefer, Karen Poston, Robbie and Jimmy Perrine, Caldwell and Grant Perrine, Ava and Alex Parrish and Gavin and Garren Henning. Her five great-great-grandchildren are Steven Bodenhoefer, Wensel Poston, and Aiden, Kaden and Mason Bodenhoefer.
She also has numerous nieces and nephews in Montana, Colorado, Washington and Florida.
Dorothy was a faithful member of the First Church of Christ,Scientist of Boston, Mass., for 63 years.
She has always been an active,loving pillar of her family. She is dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
