Merry Christmas

Dear Editor: There is nothing quite like a week in That Big City Up North to sharpen one’s awareness of how really, really special Sitka is. If holiday chaos and expectations wear you down, try walking down Lincoln Street all by yourself on Christmas Day. It’s gorgeous, quiet, clean and peaceful. Sparkling lights.

I am kind of a “bah humbug“ person and find the walk so refreshing. No one is out. You have the street all to yourself. Relish memories of the Grand Alaska Day Parade. Stop and look at the lovely window displays.
