Point House Fundraiser
Dear Editor: I want to write a letter of thanks to all who came out to support our Point House Pre-Development Fundraiser. It was an amazing night and I truly couldn’t have done it without the immense amount of community support I received.
The Point House fundraiser was a huge success and not only did we raise the funds we needed for a matching state grant, but we had a great time listening to music, buffing on art and enjoying a meal together. I want to thank my sister Cayla McCutcheon for housing our group for this event. Amara Enciso and Christine Southall for preparing our food. Edith Johnson for sharing her space. Maridon Boario and her band the Prime Cuts for keeping us dancing. Shannon Catherine Crossley to represent NorthWind Architects.
Neilga Koogéi Taija Revels and AnaVera Carrillo Morato, Chloey Cavanaugh, Anne M Stepetin, Martin Stepetin Sr. for holding down the fort. Juno Party Animals for keeping it fun! Lisa Denny for being flexible. Chuck Miller and Paul Marks for being emcees. Tonia Puletau-Lang, Rachel Roy and Chas Renee for being my Sitka contacts. Also to Sarah Ferrency and Rebecca Poulson for grant and historical work. James Poulson as well who isn’t a social media maven.
Thank you to the Sitka businesses who allowed us to post our flyers, and to the Daily Sitka Sentinel for advertising our story. Thank you to Raven Radio for on-air support. Also to Cass L. Pook and Stewart and the rest of the Karras/Pook clan, my mom Cayrn Coleman and Crystal Duncan, you know I could never do this without you.

Alaska Seaplanes for getting us there safe. Baranof Island Housing Authority, Old Harbor Books for selling tickets and Sitka Sound Seafoods for keeping us fed.
I’d also like to thank Dr. Rosita Worl, Rep. Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins, and to my friend Pat Alexander who always answers my calls and offers her help.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my grandmothers, Dr. Ellen Hope Hays and Bertha Karras. Your presence was all around me.
