Question
Dear Editor: If you read ‘‘Christianity Today,’’ Dec. 19, 2019, you will read that this major Christian magazine says Trump must be removed from office. I quote: “That he should be removed, we believe, is not a matter of partisan loyalties but loyalty to the Creator of the Ten Commandments.” It is against God. Father, Son & Holy Ghost.
Read the book “The Spiritual Danger of Donald Trump” by Ronald J. Sider. You can buy the book from christaincentury.org. In it, you will listen to 30 evangelical, mostly white, Christian writers that say the same thing.
Which leads me to ponder and pose the question. I am not the biblical scholar that I once was in college (Loyola Marymount University.) Nor am I as meek. I think a third-grader could out quote me. However, I understand the New Testaments break from the Old Testament in compassion, guidance and love. The Bible, like Trump did, should not be held up in arrogance but should be held up in love.
It is upsetting to me that some of my good friends either haven’t read this word or don’t understand what they are saying. To put a person above Christ’s teachings is putting a person above Christ. Hardly a thing I would expect a Christian to do.

Vote Gold
Dear Editor: Before you cast your vote this Election Day, please remember there is another viable option if you don’t care for the Democrat or Republican choices: Dr. Jo Jorgensen, the Libertarian Party candidate for president and Jeremy “Spike” Cohen for vice president.
Jorgensen is a senior lecturer in psychology at Clemson University, a successful entrepreneur in both software and consulting, and a former marketing professional for IBM. She is also a lifelong libertarian who was the party’s vice-presidential candidate in 1996, making her the first woman in U.S. history to be on the ballot in all 50 states twice.
Dr. Jorgensen frequently states, “I think government is too big, too nosey, too intrusive and often hurts those it intends to help.”
She is running on a platform to reduce government involvement in your life, reduce the reckless spending that is putting our grandchildren in impossible debt, achieving affordable healthcare through market competition, stopping endless wars and bringing the troops home, and eliminating victimless crimes and civil asset forfeiture on the federal level.
Dr. Jorgensen is also a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment. She supports the repeal of all laws restricting the right to bear arms, and the abolishment of the ATF.
Please do a little research about Dr. Jorgensen and the Libertarian Party in this short time before election day. You may be a Libertarian and not know it!
But even if you’re not, and you’re sick of the poor options the duopoly puts forth year after year, your vote can make a difference. By voting for Jo Jorgensen, you can help provide ballot access for libertarian candidates in Alaska, and if you help her get 5% of the national vote, then the Libertarian Party gains national party status and a share of the millions in public funding that is distributed to the old parties each year.
You don’t have to be libertarian to believe more voice and more choices will improve things in American politics. Vote Libertarian on November 3 and let’s bring some diversity of thought to our elections!
