Mike Eells and Geri (Mathews) Beach
Geri Beach (Mathews) was born in Sitka on January 19, 1962. She died peacefully on Saturday June 27, 2020, at SEARHC with Mike Eells, her lifelong partner, by her side.
She was 58.
Geri, a lifelong Sitkan, graduated from Sitka High School in 1980. She worked for many years as a pharmacy technician and most recently as a bookkeeper.
Geri and Mike were an incredible team and brought out the best in each other. Geri always had a smile on her face, was kindhearted, generous and would always make you laugh.
Geri was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Bruce Mathews; her sister Connie Beckman and her son Joshua Beach.
She is survived by her three sisters, Janet Julsen of Anchorage, Debbie Martin of Texas and Joyce Gilmore of California, and her brother Ron Mathews of Sitka.
She also is survived by her goddaughter Ive Eells of Sitka; grandchildren Jaden, Shi Shi and Lacai of Juneau; and many nieces and nephews.
Per Geri’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.

Harvey Kitka of Sitka has been reappointed to the Southeast Federal Subsistence Regional Advisory Council, U.S. Agriculture and Interior Departments officials announced. The council includes two other Sitkans, Eric Jordan and John Littlefield.

At the Monday pack meeting Cub Scout awards were presented to John Taylor, Kenny Kitka, Kevin Patterson, Ryker Goldsbury, Richard Lord, Brian Willman, Bradley Wilson, Harold Allart, Danny Armer and Billy Bolus.
