The Sitka School Board will meet 7 p.m. Monday, April 6, at the ANB Hall.
Prior to the meeting, the board will hold a gathering at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Foods Network
Seeks Vendors
The Sitka Local Foods Network is looking for vendors to participate in the summer’s Sitka Farmers Markets.
A vendor meeting is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Centennial Hall.
This is the seventh year of the market, which features six markets from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every other Saturday July through September at the ANB Founders Hall. This year’s dates are July 4, 18, Aug. 1, 15, 29 and Sept. 12.
Farmers markets feature booths from local farmers/gardeners, local fishermen, and artisans and craftspeople.They promote local foods and goods.

Production Staged
Tickets for the ‘‘Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me’’ radio show are available at Old Harbor Books.
The production will be 7 p.m. April 17 at Centennial Hall and is supported by the Greater Sitka Arts Council. More info www.thinkartthinksitka or call 747-4821.

Book April 11
Children’s author Barbara Parker will be signing copies of her book, ‘‘Night Lights of the North,’’ 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at Old Harbor Books.
Unitarians Meet at
HPR Rec Area
The Sitka Unitarian Fellowship will hold its traditional Easter celebration 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the main shelter at Halibut Point Recreation Area.
A flower communion on the beach will be followed by a picnic and an Easter egg hunt. Participants are asked to take a flower and a potluck dish to share. For more information or for a ride, call 747-3702.
Herring Festival
To Hold Potluck
Sitka Herring Festival will host the Community Potluck 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Centennial Hall.
Guest speakers Dr. Ellen Pikitch and Michelle Ridgway will present “Herring and the Web of Life: Little Fish with a Big Impact” and “Herring Camp: Highlights and Discoveries.”

On Honor Roll
Kaycie L. Coleman, a freshman in university exploratory studies, and Rumen M. Doggett, a senior in exercise and sport science, have been named to the scholastic honor roll winter term at Oregon State University, Corvallis.
Both earned at least a grade point average of 3.5 or higher while taking at least 12 credits.

Police Blotter: Preston Williams reported $6 worth of gas was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at the Kiksadi. Paul Garwood said two tires on the KSA-TV van were slashed while the truck was parked at the Hobby House. George Reid, Arrowhead Trailer Court said guns, steamer trunks and decanters valued at $1,500 were stolen by burglars. A telephone was reported detached from the booth next to the post office.
