Presentation Set
Sitka Economic Development Association will host the State of Sitka’s Economy 2 p.m. April 22 at the auditorium at Harrigan Centennial Hall.
Jim Calvin of the McKinley Research Group will present Sitka’s economic indicators and the effect of COVID-19 on the economy. The public is being encouraged to attend to learn about the trends of Sitka’s economy.

Quilters to Meet
Ocean Wave Quilters Guild will display mini quilts at the BackDoor Cafe during the month of May.
The display is in conjunction with the annual quilt show being held May 8-16 at Whitmore Hall on the SJ Campus.
Gymnastics on Tap
Gymnastics is coming back to town with a twist: Tongass Tumblers will launch as a non-profit in September.

Ukulele Concert
Set for April 22
Baranof’s ukulele concert will be Thursday, April 22, in the Baranof Elementary School parking lot, across from Market Center.
Scheduled performances are: Hanna McCarty’s class at 9:05 a.m.; Sarah Eddy’s class at 9:25 a.m.; Nicole Riggs’ class at 9:55 a.m.; Cindy Conforti’s class at 10:30 a.m.; and Linda Fredrickson’s class at 11:10 a.m.
The concert is a drive-by event and all COVID precautions are appreciated, the school said. Walkersby are asked to maintain 10-plus feet distance and to continue walking past.
