Emblem Club

Meets Thursday

Sitka Emblem Club 142 will hold a social meeting and initiation 7 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the Elks Lodge. Dinner will be served. All members are invited to attend.

 

Mini Quilt Show

At Backdoor

Ocean Wave Quilters Guild will  display some of the members’ mini quilts at the Backdoor Cafe in May.

The show is in conjunction with the main show held in Fraser Hall on the SJ Campus, May 12-21.

 

Energy Audits

On Tap This Week

The Anchorage energy auditor and net-zero home consultant is in Sitka through April 28.

Those who missed the Electrification Expo can call 541-482-3559 for an appointment for free education or for an energy audit that is subsidized by the 2023 tax credit.

 

Water Line

Repair Today

The City and Borough of Sitka public works crew will continue to repair a water line on the corner of Lake Street and Etolin Way 6 p.m. tonight.

Motorists should expect delays both directions on Lake Street via a flagger-controlled one lane. Drivers are encouraged to find alternative routes to reduce delays.

Although not anticipated by the city, customers will be informed if water in the area will have to be shuyt off while repairs are made.

No Services At

St. Peter’s Sunday

No services will be held April 30 at St. Peter’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church. The church will join with St. Philip’s Episcopal Church from Wrangell on Zoom.
