School Board

Meets Sept. 1

Sitka School Board will meet 6 p.m. Sept. 1 at Centennial Hall.

 

Women’s Pistol

League to Start

The Sitka Sportsman’s Association once again will host a Women’s Pistol League this fall. 

Participants will range from beginners to accomplished shooters. Signups, range orientation and a practice session will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15. The league will meet 6 p.m. Sundays on Sept. 19 and will run for 10 weeks.

The Sitka Sportsman’s Association indoor pistol range is located at 5211 Halibut Point Road

The fee to participate in the league is $40. Shooters must be current members of the association ($40 a year) and have a valid shooter’s insurance card ($40 a year). 

Participants will receive a 10% discount on pistols, optics, parts, shooting accessories and safety gear at Orion’s Sporting Goods and Guns of Alaska, and at Russell’s for ammunition.

ANS to Meet

The Alaska Native Sisterhood Camp 4 will meet 11 a.m. Sept. 2 at the ANB Founders Hall for the first round of nominations for 2021-2022 ANS officers.

Current members are invited to attend and it is open to the public. Membership dues need to be paid at this meeting to be qualified to vote.
