MEHS to Update
Master Plan; Sets
Public Forum
Mt. Edgecumbe High School and the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development are initiating a planning effort to update the school’s long-range master plan.
As the initial step, the community, stakeholders, staff, students and families are invited to attend a public meeting to provide visioning input to help guide the project. A public forum will be hosted 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, remotely through Zoom.
The master plan will review existing conditions and opportunities, and make recommendations for educational programming, facilities and infrastructure, land use, and projected needs to meet the school’s mission.
Work includes understanding future educational program needs and use, identification of deferred maintenance, recommendations for capital renewal and new construction, and establishing community partnerships.
The Zoom address is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/9073491425. Or dial-in by phone at 253-215-8782 and enter the meeting number 907-349-1425.
For more information, call Tim Mearig, DEED Facilities Manager, at 907-465-6906; or Christopher Hodgin, ADOT&PF, Division of Facilities Services, at 907-269-7484.
