A member of a state Department of Fish and Game stream crew was mauled by a bear late Thursday afternoon at Ford Arm on the west coast of Chichagof Island.
He was flown to Sitka in a charter aircraft and was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries today, Aaron Dupuis, a Fish and Game area biologist in Sitka, said today.
Another member of the crew shot and killed the bear during the attack, he said.
