Boater Identified

Sitka Police Department has released the identity of the man who died Tuesday after a medical crisis at sea west of Kruzof Island.

Michael Coady, 59, died of an apparent heart attack following a rescue effort that involved a number of good Samaritan boats and a Coast Guard helicopter.

Michael and his wife, Roxanne, are listed as owners of Alaska’s Big Salmon Lodge, located on Middle Island in Sitka Sound.
