Bus Stop For RIDE Moved

Posted

By Sentinel Staff

The city announced this week that one of the downtown bus stops for the RIDE has been relocated from the Crescent Harbor parking lot to the 400 block of Lincoln Street, across from the Bayview building.

Planning Director Amy Ainslie said the change will increase available space in the parking lot, and also “keep pedestrians on sidewalks and not in the parking lot when they are getting on and off the bus.”

A public service announcement from city hall said the area for the new bus stop has been painted red, and that parking will not be allowed there at any time. This is intended to be the permanent RIDE bus stop, Police Chief Robert Baty said.

Beginning June 1 the old RIDE pickup area in Crescent Harbor will be available to the public for “day-use parking.”

The announcement said those with questions can call the public works department at 907-747-1804.
