City Calls Meeting on COVID-19

City officials have called a special meeting for 3 p.m. today (March 13) at Centennial Hall to brief the Assembly on city plans and procedures in place for the response to COVID-19.
“There will be no Assembly action – this is to inform the Assembly and public,” City Clerk Sara Peterson said.
The meeting will be live-streamed on www.cityofsitka.com and broadcast live on public radio station KCAW-FM.
“That said, we’re trying to model social distancing and best practices, so we will have the chairs distanced a space apart and ask that people be respectful and mindful of that,” Peterson said.
The meeting is open to the public, but Peterson encouraged watching the meeting on the web, or listening to it on the radio.
“If they have another way to do this, such as web-streaming or listening on the radio, I would do that,” Peterson said.
A press conference will follow the meeting.
