Coast Guard Air Station put in a busy day Saturday, carrying out three medevacs in about 10 hours.
The first call came in after 7:11 a.m. and by 8:25 a.m. a helicopter crew was headed to Haines to pick up a 75-year-old man showing possible stroke and other symptoms.
After landing in Juneau, where the patient was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital, the helicopter crew launched again to pick up an 82-year-old woman in respiratory distress, in Kake. She was brought to Sitka and taken to Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center.
On the final medevac call Saturday, the same helicopter, with a new crew, flew to Angoon to pick up an 11-year-old girl with a medical emergency and bring her to Sitka. The helicopter arrived back in Sitka at 5:28 p.m.
