Richard Wein and Carol Voisin have submitted letters of interest to be appointed to an Assembly seat that came open Oct. 11 when Dave Miller resigned.
The deadline to submit a letter of interest is noon Monday, and the Assembly will appoint someone Tuesday to fill the position until the 2023 regular election.
Wein was third in the race for two Assembly seats in the Oct. 4 election, and previously served a full term on the Assembly, 2017-2020. Voisin is on the city Sustainability Commission, and also is on the board for the Sitka Community Land Trust.
Two years remained on Miller’s term when he resigned from the Assembly for health reasons.
Those seeking consideration for the Assembly appointment must sign a certificate of qualifications and submit a financial disclosure statement to the city clerk by the Monday deadline.
Application letters submitted by Wein and Voisin are in the packet for the Assembly meeting, and can be read at cityofsitka.com.
