Boat Parade
Set Tonight
Boat parade organizers have announced the dates of this year’s event. The parade will move south Wednesday, Dec. 21.
Boats will line up in the channel at 5 p.m. VHF Channel 68 will be monitored, and the parade will start once all the vessels are in the channel.
The grand prize for best in show is $1,500 donated by Caldwell Properties. Donations are being sought for second- and third-place winners.

Open Recreation
Schedule Given
Sitka Parks and Recreation has announced its open recreation schedule for winter break at Blatchley Middle School. Open skate for youths middle school age and older will be held in the BMS multipurpose room 2-4 p.m. Dec. 22. Parent-tot time will be 10 a.m.-noon Dec. 23 in the MPR. Family open recreation will be offered 2-4 p.m. Dec. 27 and 29 for all ages.
Open gym punch cards for youths, adults, and families will be available for purchase at the Parks and Recreation office located at BMS.

Advent Activities
At Lutheran Church
Sitka Lutheran Church announces the following Advent activities.
On Wednesdays at 6 p.m. will be Midweek Soup Supper and Advent worship ‘‘The Gifts of Advent.’’
On Thursdays at 6 p.m. will be Midweek Bible and Art Study, ‘‘The Images of Christmas Cards.’’
