History Signs
To be Dedicated
The public is invited to a short dedication for new interpretive signs about the history of Sheldon Jackson School and College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, at the corner of Lincoln Street and College Drive.
A reception with coffee, tea and cookies will follow at the Laundry Building (also known as “Smoke Stack”), on College Drive, across from the Sheldon Jackson Museum.
The project was made possible with the participation of graduates, former staff and other historians and experts on Sheldon Jackson history, and by the Alaska Humanities Forum, the Rasmuson Foundation, and the Sitka Fine Arts Camp.

Grinch-Mas Cards
To be Returned
Participants in the Grinch-Mas program at Sitka Public Library can return completed or almost-completed bingo cards between Dec. 25 and 31 to receive a free Grinch-Mass pin and participate in a random raffle to win a prize.

Story Time Break
At Public Library
Sitka Public Library’s story time program will take a break Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 in observance of the holidays. It will resume on Jan. 9.

Christmas Eve at
Nazarene Church
Sitka Church of the Nazarene invites the public to a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service to celebrate the birth of the savior 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 305 Lake Street.
It will be an hour of carols, special music and candle-lighting.
