Exchange Students

To Present Program

Mt. Edgecumbe and Sitka High exchange students from China, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, India and Thailand will present “A Community Conversation: Where our Cultures Meet” 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at the Sheet’ka Kwaan Naa Kahidi.

Each student will give a brief presentation and encourage the audience to ask students questions about their cultures, families, beliefs and impressions of their experiences in Sitka. Those planning to attend are asked to consider making and taking a dessert from one of the countries represented.

Additional desserts and coffee will be provided. The Sitka Rotary Club, part of Rotary International and AFS Intercultural Programs USA are sponsoring the program.

Rotary International is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and act to create lasting change – across the globe, in communities, and individually.

AFS works toward a more just and peaceful world by providing international and intercultural learning experiences to individuals, families, schools, and communities through a global volunteer partnership.

Those with questions can call Krisanne Rice, 738-4932, or Jeff Budd, 747-4821.
