Services Postponed
The family of Pauline Fredrickson has postponed her Aug. 7 celebration of life.
‘‘In respect of our friends and neighbors, we appreciate every mention, card and phone call our family has received so, so much; the support and love of this community has been amazing,’’ her family said. ‘‘Mom would want our island home to be safe, so we are postponing Pauline Fredrickson’s celebration of life. Thank you all. Be well.’’
White E Shop Adds
Wednesday Opening
The White Elephant Shop will be open on Wednesdays starting July 28. Hours will be noon-3 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and 6-8 p.m. Mondays. Masks are required.
SJ Museum Sets
New Open Hours
Sheldon Jackson Museum has changed its operating hours.
Starting Aug. 1, the museum will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
General admission is $9, and $8 for seniors. Visitors 18 years and younger, Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum, and those with passes are admitted free. Assistance is available for visitors who have special needs.

SJ Museum Closes
For Labor Day
The Sheldon Jackson Museum will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 7, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
The museum is closed on observed state holidays.
The museum will reopen 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8. Operating hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Wilderness Cruise
Slated on Aug. 8
Sitka Conservation Society will host a cruise north to the West Chichagof Wilderness Area 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 8.
The boat will travel through Salisbury Sound to Fish Bay and Suloia Bay. Due to ocean conditions and time constraints, the cruise will not go on the outside waters.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Allen Marine Tours is operating at reduced capacity, heightened cleaning protocols, and requiring masks on board except when eating or drinking. Participants can take their own food and beverages.
