Registration for the second season of Keet Kids Run I toowú klatseen has been extended to March 7. Register at: tinyurl.com/KKRITKRegister.

The 10-week virtual after-school program for second- through fifth-grade students of all genders helps build self-esteem, healthy relationship skills, and respect – all while safe at home, organizers said.

The program, rooted in Southeast Alaska traditional tribal values and culture, will prompt students to get moving with physical exercise, create art, journal and other activities.

Participants will learn lifelong lessons and values that will inspire them to be advocates for others, stewards of the air, land, and sea, and healthy in mind, body, and spirit, organizers said.

Weekly connection calls via Zoom will help participants stay connected to their coaches and with each other. Also planned are physical challenges, incentives, and a chance to win free swag.

The season starts in early March and will conclude in May with a celebratory and COVID-conscious 5K fun run. Contact Diana Fulton-Twaddle at 966-1213/twaddled@sitkaschools.org and/or Kera Jefferson at 747-3493/kjefferson@safv.org with questions.
