Sitka Emblem Club 142 will hold a social meeting 7 p.m. Thursday, March 23, at the Elks Lodge. Years of Service, Member of the Year and Officer of the Year awards will be presented.
Members are invited to attend and reminded that dues are requested by March 31.
Teen Open Swim
Sessions on Tap
The City and Borough of Sitka Parks and Recreation, in collaboration with the Community Recreation Initiative, will hold teen open swim 7-8:15 p.m. Friday, March 24, and Friday, April 14, at Blatchley pool.
Events are free of charge and funded by the Alaska Children’s Trust.

Candidates Sought
For School Board
The Sitka School Board is seeking a candidate to fill a vacancy on the board until the Oct. 3 election.
Letters of interest can be delivered to the district office by 4 p.m. March 27. The Sitka School District said candidates will be announced March 28 and public input will be accepted either in writing or by email at info@sitkaschools.org by 4 p.m. on April 4.
At the April 5 School Board meeting, the candidates will be interviewed, and one will be appointed by a majority vote.
