Anthropologist to

Present New Book

The public is invited to hear author and anthropologist Margaret Wilson speak about her new book “Woman, Captain, Rebel: The Extraordinary True Story of a Daring Icelandic Sea Captain” 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at Sitka Public Library.

Emblem Club

Meeting March 9

Sitka Emblem Club 142 will hold a business meeting 7 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at the Elks Lodge. 

Annual roll call of members and scholarship march will take place.  Members are encouraged to attend and reminded that membership dues are requested by March 31.

 

 

Woman’s Club

Meets March 11

The Sitka Woman’s Club will hold its monthly meeting noon Saturday, March 11, at Westmark Sitka.  

 

Natural Resource

Panel to Meet

Sitka Tribe of Alaska Natural Resource Committee will hold a special meeting noon Wednesday, March 8, to discuss the Coast Guard’s fast response cutter dock project.
