Wave Energy

Topic of Class

A workshop series on ‘‘Sitka Wave Energy Design’’ will be discussed at a presentation 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at BEAK Restaurant.

Participants in the workshop will work with researchers from Oregon State University and Pacific Northwest National Lab to design a wave energy project specifically for Sitka.

Those who have wondered how to harness electricity from the motion of ocean waves; interested in investigating how wave energy technology could benefit Sitka; or participate in a design project are invited to attend.

Workshops are part of a research study on community-driven renewable energy design. Participants will get to learn about renewable energy and fully participate in the design process.

Compensation for participation is offered and participants are expected to attend three workshops over the next six months. Contact Ali Trueworthy at truewoal@oregonstate.edu or (603)833-9200, or attend the March 10 presentation. No experience is needed.
