Council Meets
Sitka Tribe of Alaska Tribal Council will hold its regular monthly meeting 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at 204 Siginaka Way, 3rd floor executive board room, and by Zoom.
The meeting agenda and Zoom link are available on the STA webpage at www.sitkatribe.org. The council will review the revisions to the Ordinance Governing Committee (first reading). A copy of the ordinance is available upon request. Persons who wish to comment can request to be added to the agenda by email: anne.davis@sitkatribe-nsn.gov, no later than Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

Ocean Temps
Subject of Talk
University of Alaska Fairbanks Dr. Tyler Hennon will offer a free talk noon Thursday, May 18, at the Sitka Sound Science Center’s Mill Building.
Hennon is leading a project in collaboration with the Alaska Troller’s Association to gather temperature, salinity, depth and chlorophyll information in the understudied inside waters of Southeast Alaska.
He will provide information on why understanding the physical aspects of the inland waters is important, and show preliminary data from the project.
Attendees can take a lunch or purchase one at Ludvig’s chowder cart. If the weather is nice, the talk will be outside. For more information, contact Alex McCarrel at amccarrel@sitkascience.org.
