Life Celebration

For Mike Motti

A celebration of life for Mike Motti will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Sea Mountain Golf Course.

The event is open to anyone who would like to attend. Participants are asked to take appetizers to share. A no-host bar will be offered.

Sitka Land Trust

Panel to Meet

The Sitka Community Land Trust will meet 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28,  at the Hames corporate office conference room at 208 Lake Street, Suite B. 

The public is being encouraged to attend.

Birthday Party for

Capt. Jack Boddy

Retired commercial fisherman and longtime Sitka resident Capt. Jack Boddy will celebrate his 90th birthday 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at the Sitka Elks Lodge.

He lived both in Juneau and Sitka.His two sons, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many friends will ‘‘gather from near and far at Elks Club to fête the continued health and happiness of this successful pioneer.’’

 

Island Artists Join

Downtown Artwalk

The fall and winter Artwalk is being planned for 5-8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, in downtown Sitka. It is a tax-free shopping day event.

One participant, Island Artists Gallery, is inviting Sitkans to join them for a celebration of community and art.

 

Music will be provided by Sitka’s own “Bellymeat.” Light refreshments will be offered.

 

Landlubbers Parade

Revival Planned

Those wanting to participate in the revival of the Landlubbers Parade are being asked to contact EJ at (907) 747-5702.

 

Organizers said if there is enough interest, the parade will be Friday, Dec. 16.
