Books Sought for
Library Event
The Sitka Book Challenge is looking for the following books for teams participating in the Sitka Book Challenge, a fundraiser for the centennial celebration of the Sitka Public Library: The Boy in the Black Suit by Jason Reynolds; Almost American Girl, by Robin Ha; The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins; Vincent and Theo, the Van Gogh Brothers, by Deborah Heiligan; Etiquette & Espionage, by Gail Carriger; and The Martian, by Andy Weir.
The contest, a book trivia contest similar to the Battle of the Books for kids, will be held in February. The library system has a number of copies but more are needed for the teams to have enough time to read the books for the challenge. The 100th anniversary is in 2023.
Call 738-0602 if you have any of these books to donate. Used is fine, organizers said.
