Retirement Party

All are invited to celebrate Steve Dalquist’s retirement 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at the Edward Jones office.

Health Summit

Lunch Nov. 30

The Sitka Health Summit Coalition’s monthly Wooch.een (working together, in Tlingit) Health Networking and Learning Lunch will be noon-1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30,  at the Sitka Community Hospital classroom.

The  purpose of the meeting is to foster cross sector collaboration, learning, and networking to improve well-being in Sitka. All are welcome. For  information contact Doug Osborne at dosborne@sitkahospital.org  or Holly Marban at 966-8938.

 

Elder Services,

Housing Discussed

Expanding services and housing options for elders will be discussed 1-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Swan Lake Senior Center.

This is the third meeting for the new Health Summit initiative action group. 

 

Unitarians to Talk

About ‘Gratitude’ 

Jennifer Carter will lead “Exercises in Gratitude” at Sunday’s Unitarian Fellowship meeting.

Gathering begins at 10:30 a.m., with the program beginning at 10:45.  A potluck will follow at noon. The Fellowship Hall is at 408 Marine Street, with parking behind off Spruce Street. 

 

Brave Heart Bowls

Is Slated Dec. 6

Brave Heart Bowls is scheduled  5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Centennial Hall.

The annual event will include Chair-ity, in which six artist transform five chairs and a Christmas tree to be auctioned live. Chairs can be seen in downtown businesses. A silent auction, music by Sitka Blues Band and a cash bar are planned, as well as hand-crafted bowls for sale. Soup, bread and dessert are included in the price of the ticket, on sale at Old Harbor Books and at the door.  

 

Drummers Meet

Sitka Kaagwaantaan will have a drumming practice 2 p.m. Sunday at Blatchley Middle School in Room 114. Call Roby, 738-4004, for information.
