Girls on the Run

By Sitkans Against Family Violence

You are invited to the capstone event of the season: the 13th annual Girls on the Run 5K Community Fun Run celebration! The theme this year is ‘‘Winter Wonderland,’’ so come dressed in your best winter style for some fun running!

For months, Girls on the Run participants have been building their skills of setting goals, working together, persevering through difficulty, and unleashing confidence. This is our community’s chance to celebrate the girls’ achievements and progress throughout the season! Let’s show our girls that we support them as they grow into confident and empowered young women.

The 5k will begin and end at Centennial Hall on Saturday, Dec. 11. The run starts at 10 a.m., and registration begins at 9:30. The entire Sitka community is encouraged to attend. Please bring your masks! If you would like to be a running buddy or volunteer for the event, or if you have any questions, email gotr@safv.org or call 747-3493.

Girls on the Run is brought to you in Sitka by the Pathways Coalition.
