St. Michael’s Response

Dear Editor: Thank you, Christopher Brewton, for your supporting comments Oct. 22, ‘‘St. Michael’s Funding – use of visitor fee to support repairs.’’ You nailed it. Only I doubt the clergy and parish board would ever discourage visitors and photos.

Imagine going down Lincoln Street, passing Ben Franklin and other shuttered storefronts, to see the Cathedral doors and windows boarded! And also, your summertime delay at the crosswalk when confused tourists are turned back.

Inquisitive Assembly members may easily research this issue, by taking The Underground Tour 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon on Saturday, Oct. 26. It’s sobering, not spooky. Your tour fee is waived – just so this  is not ruled ‘‘kickback’’ to our government.
