Planning Panel Backs Request Over Tidelands

At a regular meeting Wednesday, the Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend the Assembly approve the lease of municipal tidelands to the owner of the property immediately adjacent to the tidelands.

The property – located next to 1406 Sawmill Creek Road in a WD - waterfront district – is accessible only by crossing applicant Thomas Williamson’s property.

Williamson said at the meeting that he has leased the tidelands previously, but that the prior lease expired a few years ago.

The item will appear before the Assembly for further consideration at a later date.
