Police Arrest Passenger On Cruise Ship

Sitka police arrested a passenger arriving on a cruise ship Thursday on a charge of assault in the third degree, domestic violence.

Orlando O. Orfano, 67, of Bakersfield, California, was charged by troopers, and as of noon today was being held in the Sitka jail. An unsecured bond of $5,000 and a performance bond of $1,000 were set this morning.

Police said today that the cruise ship Discovery Princess called late Wednesday night to report the assault and asked to be met by police Thursday morning at the Sitka Cruise Terminal.
