Rollover Of Vehicle Investigated

Posted

By Sentinel Staff
Police and fire departments responded early Saturday morning to a report of a vehicle rollover on Halibut Point Road near Granite Creek Road.
No one was at the scene when police arrived, but a witness saw a man and woman get out of the older model SUV and run up Granite Creek Road, the police dispatch report states.
Police Sgt. Lance Ewers said police are investigating, but that it appears the driver had been heading outbound on HPR, and tried to make a right turn onto Granite Creek Road, when the vehicle rolled over into the drainage ditch on the opposite side, coming to rest upside down.
The fire department said the SUV’s engine was still running when the crew arrived, and there was a smell of fuel. The fire department turned off the ignition and the lights, and flipped the SUV back onto its wheels to stop a fuel leak, said Senior Engineer Craig Warren.
No injuries were reported, the police department said. The identities of the occupants when the vehicle rolled over are being investigated.
