‘Music, Community’

Hank Moore will explore the importance of “Music and Community” at Sunday’s Unitarian Fellowship meeting.

“In North Carolina you can tell where someone is from from the way they sing their song,” Moore said.

Halloween Items

At White E Shop

Sitka Film Society

Movies to Show

The Sitka Film Society and Coliseum Theater will show “Eighth Grade” 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, and “Three Identical Strangers” 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Coliseum Theater.

‘‘Eighth Grade” is a simple story of an unremarkable girl, tenderly and movingly told. It was written and directed by Bo Burnham, a stand-up comic who started out by posting videos of himself on YouTube. The film is rated R.

The knockout documentary ‘‘Three Identical Strangers’’ begins as a goofy, believe-it-or-not tabloid story and slowly drifts into darker waters — the realm of horror, then of tragedy.

Tickets are $8 per film, available at Old Harbor Books. Those with questions may call 738-0602
