Norma Perkins, Dr. Pamela Steffes and James Craig were elected to three-year terms on the Shee Atika Incorporated board of directors Saturday at its 45th annual meeting of shareholders, held in Anchorage.
Perkins was the sole Independent candidate on the ballot after Dionne Brady-Howard and James Wilkins withdrew, the corporation said. She received 109,082 votes, by far the most of the candidates.
Steffes received 75,008 votes and Craig 67,189.
Heath Barger received 42,709 votes; Guthrie 24,344, and London 19,017, Shee Atika said in a news release today.
A resolution to reduce the quorum requirement for shareholder meetings to one-third failed on a vote of 55,791 yes to 23,298 no votes. A total of 75,741 votes was required for Resolution 2019-01 to pass, Shee Atika said.
Following the election, the board re-elected Ken Cameron president and chief executive officer; Steffes, chairman; Faleen Worrell vice-chairman; Perkins secretary; and Gillian Havrilla treasurer.
The board and staff thanked Heath Barger for his years of service as a Shee Atiká director.
Shee Atiká is the corporation established under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act for the Alaska Natives historically residing in and around Sitka.
