Sitka Unified Command announced today that three new positive COVID-19 tests came in on Friday.

The recent positive test results bring Sitka’s cumulative total case numbers to 33 resident cases and 15 nonresident cases.

The latest cases are a female nonresident, age 50-59, who was asymptomatic and received testing August 13; a male nonresident, age 40-49, who was asymptomatic and received COVID-19 testing on August 13; and a male resident, age 10-19, who was symptomatic and tested on August 8.

The patients are isolating.

“Public Health Officials have initiated a contact investigation and will notify and isolate additional persons that may have been in contact with these individuals as appropriate,” a Unified Command press release said.

Public Health officials notified the command of the most recent test results Friday. No positive test results were received over the weekend.

The dashboard from Unified Command lists the total cumulative hospitalizations at one, and the total cases recovered at 46.
